School: Arkansas

Class: Redshirt Senior

Position: QB

HT: 6’6

WT: 235 lbs

Background: Taylen Green was a 3-star quarterback out of Lewisville, Texas in the 2021 class. He was a top 200 player in Texas and top 80 quarterback in the class. Taylen’s sister, Nyah, played basketball for Louisville and Duke. Green led Lewisville High School to the state playoffs in both his junior and senior seasons. Green was an all-around athlete for Lewisville, also running track. He is the school’s long jump record holder. Out of high school, Green committed to Boise State over schools such as Southern Miss and Marshall.

College: Green redshirted in 2021 for the Broncos before becoming the starter in 2022. Green passed for 2,042 yards and accumulated 24 touchdowns on the season. He was named the Mountain West Freshman of the Year. In 2023, Green rushed for 436 yards while passing for 1,752 yards and 11 touchdowns. After a couple productive years with Boise State, Green transferred to Arkansas. Taylen finished the 2024 season with 3,154 passing yards and 602 rushing yards. 2025 saw Taylen repeat his dual-threat production with 2,714 passing yards and 777 rushing yards.

Strengths: Taylen Green has the combination of size and athleticism that is so sought after in the modern NFL quarterback. Green has been clocked at over 23 MPH on the GPS at full speed. While possessing that speed and freakish athleticism, he also has a huge frame that makes it easy for him to see over the line and remain in the pocket while it is clean. He accesses all three areas of the field and excels with deep balls. He drops the ball in a bucket down the field, hitting his man perfectly in stride on a consistent basis. When out of structure, Green remains focused on pushing the ball down field through the air and does not abandon the pass unless necessary. As a runner, Green isn’t afraid to lower his shoulder and run with an aggressive physicality.

Weaknesses: Green’s greatest downfall is how erratic his ball placement is. Too often it feels as even he doesn’t know where his throw is going. Even the easy throws in the short areas are missed when they should be easy first downs. Taylen relies too heavily on his athletic ability and natural arm strength. He has always had unique mechanics that lead to the inconsistency. Both his upper and lower halves are completely out of sync when throwing the football. Green has relied heavily on timing during his collegiate career and struggles with reading defenses when going through progressions. He often locks in on one read or one half of the field instead of scanning the whole field.

Conclusion: Taylen Green has the physical traits to do anything on the football field and develop into a plus starter. His mechanics need to be refined to get to that point, but there is confidence that he can get there.
