Brandon Cisse Scouting Report
Cisse does not profile as a boundary cornerback. He may be better served as a safety or a nickel who can shut down the slot and play in the box to use his natural athleticism. He can also be utilized in a STAR role and be deployed anywhere on the field as a “jack of all trades” type of player.
Mansoor Delane Scouting Report
Mansoor Delane is a fluid mover with sticky hands in coverage. He plays with a strength that is rare at the cornerback position and is not afraid to get physical at the catchpoint. This style of play makes up for his smaller frame, but it will be less effective against the boundary receivers in the NFL.
Jalon Kilgore Scouting Report
Jalon Kilgore is a beautiful blend of size and speed in the secondary to truly dominate any kind of matchup. His profile will likely be better served at the safety position in the NFL with his lack of transitional ability and his quick trigger. He has the skill to be either a safety or a cornerback, but he has a higher ceiling at safety.
D’Angelo Ponds Scouting Report
D’Angelo Ponds is a great player who can make up for his smaller stature in a variety of ways. He can play both boundary and nickel. He has also proven that he can dominate wide receivers who are bigger than him. I expect him to make an instant impact, but I do not expect him to stick on the boundary, and I am not anticipating him to be an All-Pro cornerback.
Jermod McCoy Scouting Report
Jermod McCoy is a physical presence on the boundary who can shut down an entire side of the field in man coverage. He really struggles to process and manage his assignment in zone coverage, which is his one pitfall. Put him in a man heavy scheme and let him lock down one side of the field. His injury history is certainly of concern, especially considering how much he relies on quick movement ability in his game. His Pro Day was a good start in putting those worries to rest.
Avieon Terrell Scouting Report
Aveion Terrell is a physical and aggressive boundary cornerback. He should be deployed on the boundary, but he can certainly play the nickel if necessary. His wiry frame will leave him susceptible to bigger boundary receivers, but he makes up for it with his style of play.
Josiah Trotter Scouting Report
Josiah Trotter is a ball-hawking linebacker who likes to get in the mix closer to the line of scrimmage. His coverage abilities need serious improvement if he is going to be a “do it all” linebacker in the middle of an NFL defense. Trotter can be looked at as a linebacker who can blossom from a developmental role into an impact starter by the middle of his rookie contract.
Arvell Reese Scouting Report
Arvell Reese is a splash play waiting to happen. He sets up camp for a full 60 minutes in the backfield. He can win in so many unique ways that makes it near impossible for an offense to silence him. If he can fill out his frame a bit more without sacrificing that unmatched athleticism, he will become a superstar.
Harold Perkins Jr. Scouting Report
Harold Perkins Jr. brings elite athleticism to the linebacker position and can truly do it all as both a coverage linebacker and a blitzer. His issues stem from his lack of size and the question remains if his frame is maxed out or if he can add some more muscle mass. He can be an elite blitzing linebacker that most offensive tackles cannot handle on the edge.
Kyle Louis Scouting Report
Kyle Louis is a rangy linebacker who can get from sideline to sideline. He has plus coverage skills and will best be deployed as an off-ball linebacker in standard 4-3 defenses. Louis will struggle to hold his own as a run defender and his frame may already be maxed out.
Bryce Boettcher Scouting Report
Bryce Boettcher is a leader of the defense and will command the respect of his teammates immediately. He leads by example and will be the hardest worker on the team. His age, lack of strength, and lack of size are all working against him. However, he can use his athleticism and football IQ to carve out a role in the NFL.
Jacob Rodriguez Scouting Report
Jacob Rodriguez is a player who burst onto the scene later in his college career. He has had some incredible production in his last couple of years but is still a work in progress as a processor. It is unclear if Rodriguez has what it takes to be a true commander of a defense at this point.
Sonny Styles Scouting Report
Sonny Styles is one of the most physically impressive players in the entire draft class. His athleticism is apparent right when you turn on the tape. He does not win with strength or physicality, but he does not need to. He will come into an NFL organization and instantly command the respect of a defense as a guy who can play every snap.
CJ Allen Scouting Report
CJ Allen can become an elite linebacker at the next level if he becomes a more effective pre-snap processor. Adding a good 10 pounds of muscle to his frame could help him impose his will when laying the hit stick, but it is not necessary to make him an effective tackler, as he is already productive in that category.
Taurean York Scouting Report
Taurean York is an undersized linebacker who uses speed and athleticism to win. He has the instincts to diagnose plays pre-snap and he has the clear leadership traits to command a locker room. His size is something that is out of his control but he does well in all other areas to make up for it.
Anthony Hill Jr. Scouting Report
Anthony Hill Jr. is a dynamic firecracker of a linebacker who can truly do it all. He needs to reign in technique to put himself in better positions to succeed on a regular basis. As a younger prospect, Hill has plenty of room to grow into one of the best linebackers in the NFL.
Domonique Orange Scouting Report
Domonique Orange is a massive 1-tech who can completely change the course of a game with his ability to shut down the run between the tackles. He needs to figure out how to use his hands in a more functional way as a pass rusher to be more effective on all three downs.
Rayshaun Benny Scouting Report
Rayshaun Benny is a fun defensive tackle who can develop into a more productive player if he uses his traits in a more functional way. None of his weaknesses are out of Benny’s control and are all manageable. Aside from medical concerns in the lower body, Benny has the chance to change the narrative on most of his weaknesses.
Gracen Halton Scouting Report
Gracen Halton is a pass rushing defensive tackle who can get into the backfield in a variety of ways. Adjusting his lower body to get a wider base will serve him well against the run. He is still a technically raw player but flashes the tools to be one of the more well-rounded defensive tackles in this draft class.
Darrell Jackson Jr. Scouting Report
Darrell Jackson Jr. is a defensive tackle who can use his size and length to win matchups, but he sacrifices a lot of athleticism along the way. If he can play with a wider base at a more consistent level, he can instantly become a nightmare matchup. His narrow base just allows opponents to gain leverage and take him out of the play too easily.
