School: Boise State
Class: Redshirt Junior
Position: OT
HT: 6’5
WT: 311 lbs
Background: Kage Casey was a 3-star offensive tackle out of Happy Valley, Oregon. Kage was a top 10 player in Oregon and top 150 offensive tackle in the class of 2022. Casey attended Clackamas High School, where he played both offensive tackle and on the defensive line. Casey chose to play for Boise State over Oregon State.
College: Casey redshirted in 2022 before taking over the starting role in 2023. Casey was a Freshman All-American and All-Mountain West Second Team selection after starting every game at left tackle. 2024 saw Casey start every game at left tackle again. He was an all-America selection by numerous outlets and was an All-Mountain West First Team honoree. In 2025, Casey started 13 games at left tackle for the Broncos and was an All-American selection. He was also named a First Team All-Mountain West selection. He participated in the Senior Bowl before the draft.
Strengths: Kage Casey is a strong offensive tackle with significant power in each strike. He has a strong core and arms to handle contact and displace defenders at the line of scrimmage. Each punch that Casey throws in pass protection is on target. He knocks defenders back with strikes to the chest that possess evident force. He manages to get both hands under the pads of defenders with a devastating latch to take them out of the play. Casey performs well when angling rushers or digging them out as a run blocker. In the run game, he takes good angles himself. He hits his landmarks in open space with efficiency. He plays with a mean streak to finish assignments through the whistle.
Weaknesses: With how physically impressive his upper body is, I find that he is clumsy with his lower body. He has funky movement and is a poor mover. Casey tends to overextend himself on reach blocks, which puts him in bad positions far too often. All measurables on Casey’s profile are underwhelming. He is short for the position with short arms, putting him at an immediate disadvantage, especially considering he overextends both in the phone booth and open space.
Conclusion: Kage Casey has a strong frame with unmatchable punches that completely knock defenders off their rush. His measurables are more than underwhelming but he makes up for it with that aforementioned strength. Casey is certainly a candidate to be kicked inside to guard, but should be given a long leash at tackle.
