School: Louisville
Class: Senior
Position: WR
HT: 6’2
WT: 220 lbs
Background: Chris Bell was a 3-star wide receiver out of Greenville Christian School in Yazoo City, Missouri. Bell was a top 200 receiver and top 35 player in Missouri in the class of 2022. As a senior for Greenville Christian, he helped his team win a state title after totaling over 1,000 yards of offense. Bell chose to play for Louisville over Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Florida State, and others.
College: Every year in Louisville has seen Chris Bell increase his production. As a true freshman in 2022, Bell caught 7 passes for 105 yards. He saw a more steady role in 2023, when he caught 26 passes for 386 yards and 2 touchdowns. 2024 was Chris Bell’s breakout campaign. The Cards’ wide receiver hauled in 43 passes for 737 yards and 4 touchdowns. In 2025, Bell posted 72 receptions for 917 yards and 6 touchdowns. He was an All-ACC First Team selection in his final year as a Cardinal. Unfortunately, Bell tore his ACL in December before the bowl game, derailing his offseason.
Strengths: Chris Bell has an imposing frame that makes it difficult for cornerbacks to match his physicality or strength on the boundary. He bullies cornerbacks who try to press him on the line of scrimmage as he is not affected by a jam or hand fighting. His strength makes it difficult for defensive backs to bring him down in open space. It takes a gang effort to efficiently bring Bell to the ground. Bell does not sacrifice speed for size or strength. He has long strides and fantastic long speed that allows him to create separation in the deep areas of the field. Bell gets vertical and stacks corners on the boundary quickly by galloping with those long strides, immediately putting cornerbacks on their heels. He gets in and out of his breaks at the route stem very well. Bell can go from his top speed and long strides to a complete stop and break off his route to free up space.
Weaknesses: Bell is strictly a boundary wide receiver who does not have the savvy route running to be alignment versatile. His route tree is relatively limited and he is not a “do everything” wide receiver. Bell is not productive in the short areas due to his lack of quick twitch movement skills. He does not create instant separation off the line.
Conclusion: Chris Bell is a physically imposing wide receiver who can change his speeds at the blink of an eye. He has tight end strength at the wide receiver position to go with track speed. If he can expand his route tree, he will really be a complete player.
