School: Washington

Class: Third Year

Position: QB

HT: 5’11

WT: 190 lbs

Background: Demond Williams Jr. was a consensus 4-star quarterback out of Chandler, Arizona. Williams was a top 15 quarterback in the 2024 class. He played for Basha High School, where he was named the state’s Offensive Player of the Year and the region’s Player of the Year. Demond was an all-state selection as both a junior and a senior. Williams was also a decorated sprinter for Basha, qualifying for state in all four years and won a Division I 4×100 championship in 2023. Williams originally committed to play for Jedd Fisch at Arizona, but then entered the portal a week after signing day to follow Fisch to Washington.

College: As a freshman in 2024, Williams managed to appear in every game and started the last two, signaling that he was the Huskies QB of the future. He took over in 2025 and threw for 3,065 yards, 25 passing touchdowns, and 8 interceptions. These numbers went with 611 rushing yards and 6 rushing touchdowns. He was named an All-Big 10 honorable mention selection in his first full year as a starter.

Strengths: Demond Williams is a special athlete at the quarterback position. He gets himself out of plenty of jams with his ability to scramble and improvise with his legs. He is the most effective runner in the class. His legs give defenses an entirely new dimension to worry about. Williams does not sacrifice arm talent for athleticism, as he has a pretty deep ball. He can access all areas of the field and shows off above average arm strength when driving the ball down the field. He also has one of the higher completion percentages in the class, hovering close to 70%. His combination of efficiency through the air while being able to gash defenses with his legs makes him a true matchup nightmare.

Weaknesses: Williams is undersized for the position. His stature and playstyle is a dangerous combination in the NFL. His durability has come into question with that style and injury history. Williams plays with a high-risk playstyle and tends to make turnover worthy plays far too often to sustain success at the next level. He puts the ball in harms way and lets defenses back into the game with interceptions.

Conclusion: Demond Williams is a dynamic athlete who can stress defenses just as much with his legs as he can with his arm. He needs to reel in his throws to be more controlled and disciplined to eliminate some of the turnovers. He will be a project who could benefit from sitting behind a savvy veteran to begin his career.
