School: Georgia
Class: Senior
Position: TE
HT: 6’5
WT: 245 lbs
Background: Oscar Delp was a top 100 recruit and consensus 4-star tight end in the 2022 class. Delp was the top tight end and top 10 player in Georgia in the class. Out of Cumming, Georgia, Delp played for West Forsyth High School. In 2021, Delp had 59 receptions for 923 yards and 8 touchdowns. Oscar was named Forsyth County Offensive Player of the Year. Delp also played lacrosse for West Forsyth. Oscar Delp committed to Georgia over South Carolina, Michigan, and Florida.
College: Delp was used in a reserve role as a freshman in 2022, logging 5 receptions for 61 yards. In 2023, he took on more of a starting role, catching 24 balls for 284 yards and 3 touchdowns. He put up similar numbers in 2024 with 21 receptions for 248 yards and 4 touchdowns. Delp started all 14 games for the Bulldogs in 2025. He tallied 19 receptions for 245 yards and 1 touchdown.
Strengths: Delp provides elite speed at the tight end position. He can stretch the defense vertically both from the slot and the line of scrimmage. He consistently dusts linebackers, but even defensive backs have a tough time going stride for stride with Delp. He has a strong grip, proven in how sticky his hands are when ripping the football out of the air. Delp is comfortable making catches away from his frame and provides a friendly target for the quarterback with a larger than average catch radius. As a route runner, he is a smooth operator. He does well to sink his hips at the break to cut with a certain explosiveness. Delp is a solid contributor as a blocker. He is not the biggest tight end, but he makes it difficult for edge rushers to penetrate the pocket on him.
Weaknesses: Bigger and more physical defenders with the athleticism to keep up with Delp seem to take him out of the game. He struggles when having to engage in a battle of muscle or physicality. If he could add some muscle mass to his frame, he could see more success in this aspect. He never became that TE1 with insane production at Georgia. His volume statistics were never all that impressive and it is worth questioning if he can be a high-volume tight end at the next level.
Conclusion: Oscar Delp is a fast tight end with the ability to get to the deep areas of the field with ease. He is a technical route runner and willing blocker, all qualities coming together to make Delp a well-rounded player. With that being said, his lack of production and lack of functional strength will raise questions about how he will translate to the NFL.
