School: Alabama

Class:Senior

Position:EDGE

HT:6’5

WT:278 lbs

Background: LT Overton was a top 15 recruit in the 2022 class out of Milton, Georgia. Overton was a top 5 defensive lineman in the country and top 3 player in the state. LT played for Milton High School and was originally in the 2023 class, but reclassified. After his final season at Milton, he participated in the Under Armour All-American Game. LT Overton was a member of that historic 2022 Texas A&M recruiting class, choosing the Aggies over Georgia, Oregon, and others.

College: Over two seasons with A&M, Overton played in 23 games, totalling 48 tackles. After his sophomore year, Overton transferred to Alabama. In 2024, Overton recorded 3 TFLs and 2 sacks. In 2025, Overton started 12 games, recording 42 tackles, 6 TFLs, and 4 sacks on the season.

Strengths: LT Overton wins with strength at the point of attack. He is a reliable run defender on the edge. He is able to contain and clog multiple running lanes simultaneously. He has the violence to shed blocks and launch into ball carriers at the line of scrimmage. His lower body strength is also shown in his ability to get low and explode into the opponent’s pads. He lifts tackles up and off their anchor before leaking into the backfield. Overton also has the size and strength to slide inside and attack the A gap on stunts or twists. Overton does well to attack the inside shoulder of tackles and work his way through creases in the line. His footwork is technical, allowing him to slip through the line when he doesn’t win with power at the point of attack.

Weaknesses: Overton does not have elite athletic traits that allow him to overwhelm opponents. His get off is slow and allows offensive tackles to seal off the edge before he can attempt to set it. Overton is a stiff pass rusher who doesn’t offer much athleticism. He relies too heavily on strength, which can be matched by offensive tackles. While he relies on strength, he doesn’t get low enough consistently to win leverage battles. He plays with too high of a pad level.

Conclusion: LT Overton is a strong and densely built edge rusher who can play 3 tech and penetrate gaps in a pinch. He doesn’t win with quick twitch athleticism, instead relying on strength. His frame is likely maxed out, meaning he can’t add too much more muscle to kick inside. He is more of a one-dimensional edge rusher with high run defending upside.
