School: Texas A&M
Class: Junior
Position: WR
HT: 5’11
WT: 190 lbs
Background: Kevin “KC” Concepcion is a product of Charlotte, North Carolina and attended Chambers High School. Concepcion was a top 25 player in North Carolina and top 100 wide receiver in the class of 2023. In his final two seasons at Chambers, Concepcion tallied 65 receptions for 977 yards and 12 touchdowns. Concepcion chose to stay home and play for NC State over North Carolina, Duke, Wake Forest, and others.
College: In two years as a member of the Wolfpack, he made 124 catches for 1,299 yards and 16 touchdowns while also throwing in 356 yards rushing. After two productive seasons with NC State, Concepcion left to play for Texas A&M. In his one year with the Aggies, KC was the primary weapon in a historic offense. He recorded 61 receptions for 919 yards and 9 touchdowns on his way to an All-SEC First Team selection.
Strengths: KC Concepcion is an elite runner with crafty movement skills and quick feet. He gets in and out of his breaks with ease to shake cornerbacks off his hip. He operates in the short and intermediate areas so smoothly while maintaining a level of foot speed that is not easy to track. He is just as crafty with the ball in his hands. Once he gets into the open field, he is a slippery runner who is hard to bring down. Concepcion does not sacrifice size for strength. He makes incredibly difficult catches in contested situations. He does well to hold onto the football when he knows he is about to be hit hard. Concepcion also does well to fight for every inch, which is impressive given his size.
Weaknesses: Concepcion’s main concerns all have to do with his smaller stature. He wont be much of a deep ball threat as he may get beat to the ball by bigger defenders. His size limits him to strictly slot role in the NFL. He simply won’t work as a boundary receiver at the next level.
Conclusion: KC Concepcion will be an extremely dangerous slot receiver in the NFL. He is a strong and reliable target who can be relied on to make incredibly difficult catches. If a team has a need for production in the slot, Concepcion is the perfect solution.
