School: Alabama

Class: Senior

Position: WR

HT: 6’1

WT: 205 lbs

Background: Germie Bernard was a top 250 recruit in the 2022 class. Out of Las Vegas, Bernard was a top 5 player in the state and a top 40 wide receiver in the class. Germie played for Liberty High School, where he was a first-team all-league wide receiver and returner. In his final season at Liberty, Bernard totaled 956 yards on 53 receptions. Germie Bernard committed to play for Michigan State over Washington, Michigan, and others.

College: Bernard saw limited reps as a freshman at Michigan State, and he transferred to Washington in the offseason. In 2023, for the Huskies, he caught 34 passes for 419 yards. After a productive season at Washington, Bernard hit the portal once more. He landed in Alabama, following Kalen Deboer. Bernard became a starter for the Crimson Tide immediately. In 2024, Bernard had 50 receptions for 794 yards and 2 touchdowns. In his last year of eligibility in 2025, Bernard became more of a featured weapon in the Alabama offense. He recorded 64 receptions for 862 yards and 7 touchdowns.

Strengths: Germie Bernard plays bigger than his frame suggests. He is a strong wide receiver who can climb the ladder and make a play on the football in the air. Bernard is aggressive to snag the football at the catchpoint. Bernard is a natural hands catcher with soft hands to bring in footballs away from his frame. He tracks the ball well over his shoulder with late hands to keep the defender guessing. He is a sharp route runner at all areas of the field, winning in a variety of ways. He sells downfield well before breaking on his route without chopping his feet. Bernard is most productive against zone coverage, where he can find the soft spots in open space to wait for the football.

Weaknesses: Bernard does not have the high-end athleticism that makes him dangerous with the ball in his hands. The play seems to die quickly after the catch. He has had minimal yards after the catch his entire career. Bernard tends to get jammed at the line of scrimmage. While Bernard shows effort as a blocker, he is not particularly effective.

Conclusion: Germie Bernard is a big playmaker with the football IQ to take advantage of any lapses in defenses. He is not an elusive playmaker out of the catch, but he finds himself open consistently.
