School: Texas
Class: Senior
Position: IOL
HT: 6’3
WT: 321 lbs
Background: DJ Campbell was a top 10 and consensus 5-star recruit in the 2022 class. Campbell was named an all-district selection three times for Arlington Bowie High School down in Arlington, Texas. He was also an all-state and All-American as a senior. DJ was the top player at his position and a top 3 player in the state. He also competed in both basketball and track & field in high school. DJ Campbell chose in-state Texas over Georgia, Alabama, USC, and Oklahoma.
College: DJ appeared in 7 games as a true freshman in 2022, but officially took over as the starting right guard in 2023. He was Joe Moore Award finalist in 2024 after a fantastic campaign that led to a Texas playoff run. Campbell started in every game at guard, never missing a game in his Texas career. He was also a Third Team All-SEC selection in 2025.
Strengths: DJ Campbell is a reliable interior offensive lineman who has been a mainstay in the Longhorns’ lineup ever since he stepped foot on campus. He has incredible length for the interior, similar to that of an offensive tackle. He consistently gets low and wins the leverage battle. His lateral agility is noticeable as he is able to seal gaps off to pinch rushers and close off any openings. His feet and hands work independently to keep his assignment in front of him. He processes quickly and does not get overwhelmed by movement across his face.
Weaknesses: Campbell often overextends himself to initiate contact. He wants to use his length to impose his will in the phone booth, often reaching too early and losing balance. In space, Campbell struggles to hit his landmarks. He does not do well climbing to the second level and connecting with linebackers. While he has quick feet, his recovery speed leaves much to be desired. He struggles to get back in the fight when beat on the first step.
Conclusion: DJ Campbell can be a reliable depth piece for an NFL offensive line. He has the tools to develop into an average starter at the next level. He should not be looked at as an instant answer, but he has room to grow into a good player.
