School: Auburn
Class: Redshirt Sophomore
Position: IOL
HT: 6’3
WT: 300 lbs
Background: Connor Lew was a 3-star interior offensive lineman out of Kennesaw, Georgia. Lew was a top 50 player in the state in the 2023 class. Lew played for Kennesaw Mountain High School, where he was a first team all-state selection as a senior. After his senior season, Lew accepted an invitation to play in the All-American Bowl. He was a 4.0 student every year of high school and also lettered in wrestling. Lew chose to play for Auburn over Miami, Georgia, and Clemson.
College: After an injury forced Connor into the starting center position as a true freshman, he excelled. Lew was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team and was a Freshman All-American by multiple outlets. He maintained the starting position all the way through the middle of the 2025 season, before he went down with a season-ending injury.
Strengths: Connor Lew is a smart processor who can diagnose stunts and twists at the line of scrimmage well. He does well to hand off initial assignments before taking on new assignments on the fly. He is a natural leader who can take control of an offensive line. He seemingly knows what the defense is doing before he snaps the football. You can see Lew communicating with the offense pre-snap to adjust to the defense. As a pass protector, Lew does not allow anything. He has a strong lower half with quick footwork to keep his assignment in front of him. He gets to the second level as a run blocker efficiently. He latches onto linebackers to clear paths quickly. He finishes blocks into the dirt and wants to impose his will on every play.
Weaknesses: The biggest concern for Connor Lew is the ACL tear that he suffered in 2025. He will miss all pre-draft workouts and will likely not be ready for rookie minicamp or OTAs. This puts him not only in a position to fall in the draft, but also at a developmental disadvantage. He will be behind the 8 ball to start in the NFL as a rookie as he will not have the standard ramp-up to regular season action. On the field, his punches do not have the impact they should. He does not have the knock back in his punch that many others do. His strength isn’t a question in other areas, but his hands do not seem to generate that kind of power.
Conclusion: Connor Lew is an elite center prospect who suffered a devastating injury. An ideal situation for Lew would be to go to a team who can afford to stash him for the first few weeks as he gets caught up. He can take control of an offensive line unit and is a future team captain.
