School: Tennessee
Class: Redshirt Junior
Position: WR
HT: 6’5
WT: 200 lbs
Background: Chris Brazzell II was a 3-star wide receiver out of Midland, Texas. He was not ranked as a top 100 player in Texas or a top 100 wide receiver in the class of 2022. In his high school career, Brazzell had 104 catches for 1,596 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns. Brazzell was a first team all-district selection as a senior. Chris Brazzell II committed to play for Tulane over FAU, Pitt, and others.
College: Brazzell redshirted the 2022 season with Tulane before breaking out as a redshirt freshman in 2023. He caught 44 passes for 711 yards and 5 touchdowns. These numbers were good enough to earn him Freshman All-American and Third Team All-AAC honors. After the breakout campaign, he transferred to Tennessee. In 2024, Chris had 29 receptions for 333 yards and 2 touchdowns. 2025 saw Chris put it all together for an eye-popping statistical season. He was an All-SEC First Team selection after recording 62 receptions for 1,017 yards and 9 touchdowns.
Strengths: Chris Brazzell possesses the frame of a physically dominant boundary receiver, but has the movement skills of a craft slot receiver. He has excellent body control in every aspect of his game. In the air, Brazzell can position himself to make plays on the football. As a route runner, Brazzell does well to sell fakes at the stem of his route. His lower half is unpredictable for defenders. He has loose hips to get in and out of breaks with fluidity. Brazzell is an excellent deep ball receiver. He tracks the ball well over his shoulder and has soft and reliable hands to make big-time catches. Brazzell has noticeable speed and explosiveness off the line, especially considering his size. He handles jams with ease and can get into his route quickly.
Weaknesses: His frame seems to be unproportional as he is tall and slim. He has injury history and future durability is a concern. He does not have the movement skills in open space to make guys miss with the ball in his hands. His lateral agility leaves much to be desired. Brazzell struggles to separate from stronger or more physical man coverage cornerbacks.
Conclusion: Chris Brazzell is a physically imposing wide receiver with the frame to make anything happen. He also is a better route runner than is expected of someone his size. He has durability concerns and struggles with physicality, but his concerns do not stack up against his strengths.
