School: Texas Tech
Class: Senior
Position: WR
HT: 6’4
WT: 205 lbs
Background: Caleb Douglas was a 3-star wide receiver out of Missouri City, Texas. Douglas is the son of a former college QB, Cedric Douglas, who played at Vanderbilt and Texas Southern. Caleb was a top 500 recruit and top 70 wide receiver in the 2022 class. Caleb Douglas is 4th all time for receiving yards at Highwater High School. He was the District Offensive MVP as a senior after posting 51 receptions for 984 yards and 5 touchdowns. Caleb Douglas committed to Florida over USC, LSU, and Notre Dame.
College: Caleb recorded 10 receptions for 175 yards and 2 touchdowns. As a sophomore, Douglas was only able to compete in 5 games before suffering a season-ending injury. Caleb transferred to Texas Tech ahead of the 2024 season. In his first season with the Red Raiders, Douglas caught 60 passes for 877 yards and 6 touchdowns. As a senior in 2025, Douglas had 846 yards and 7 touchdowns. His production led to him being named an All-Big 12 Second Team selection.
Strengths: Caleb Douglas is a big target on the boundary. He has incredible length that overwhelms defensive backs on the outside. He is comfortable catching the ball away from his frame, providing an incredibly large catch radius. He is an incredibly friendly target for any style of quarterback. Douglas is strong and aggressive at the catchpoint. He climbs the ladder to make catches in the air, even with defenders draped all over him. Caleb is a deep ball threat due to his contested catch prowess. Even if he isn’t able to create separation or stack the cornerback, he still has a good chance to go up and make a play. This also makes him a threat in the red zone. Fade balls to the back of the endzone to Caleb Douglas feels like a cheat code.
Weaknesses: Caleb Douglas does not have elite movement skills. He is a bigger receiver and he does sacrifice some top end speed in exchange for the size. I would also like to see Douglas be a more consistent blocker on the outside. He has his highs but he also has some moments where he lets more physical defensive backs shed him with ease.
Conclusion: Caleb Douglas is a big target with a prototypical skillset for an X receiver. He lacks top end speed to take the top off defenses, limiting what he can do within an NFL offense. He will instantly be an impactful player in the redzone due to his size and ability to climb the ladder to make plays in the air.
