School: Clemson
Class: Redshirt Junior
Position: WR
HT: 5’11
WT: 190 lbs
Background: Antonio Williams was a highly touted receiver out of Dutch Fork High School in Irmo, SC. Williams was a top 3 player in South Carolina and top 10 wide receiver in the class of 2022. Over his career at Dutch Fork, he caught 137 passes for 2,458 yards and 23 touchdowns. Additionally, he helped Dutch Fork reach the state title game in all 4 seasons, winning 3 of them. Antonio Williams stayed in stated and committed to Clemson over Auburn, Ole Miss, and South Carolina.
College: Williams was a Freshman All-American in 2022 after catching 56 passes for 604 yards and 4 touchdowns. 2023 was riddled with injuries and Antonio struggled to stay on the field for most of the season. He was limited to just 224 yards on the year. Antonio had a career year in 2024, staying healthy and dangerous all season. He recorded 75 receptions for 904 yards and 11 receiving touchdowns. These numbers were good enough to get Williams named to the First Team All-ACC squad. 2025 was another season where Williams was able to show his talent, but experienced his fair share of injuries that prevented him from duplicating his 2024 production. He tallied 55 receptions for 604 yards and 4 touchdowns. These numbers were still good enough to get Williams selected as a Third Team All-ACC member
Strengths: Antonio Williams is a dangerous playmaker at the wide receiver position. Put the ball in his hands and he can do special things after the catch. He is difficult to track down and bring to the ground in open space. He is not only elusive, but a powerful runner. He is rarely brought down on initial contact. He runs through defensive backs to break off chunk yardage. Williams is a tremendous deep threat with natural hands and a large catch radius. He displays late hands to not telegraph the catch for the defensive back. He is strong at the catchpoint to rip away 50/50 balls from defenders. Williams has shown an ability to win both outside the numbers and between the hashmarks while lining up at multiple alignments.
Weaknesses: Williams’ injury history is a major concern as he has had multiple seasons completely derailed due to injury. He also does not have that elite frame that makes him a size mismatch on the boundary. He is more of a tweener between boundary and slot receiver. When running those go routes, too many throws turn into contested jump balls at the catch point because Williams does not have the top speed to create separation.
Conclusion: Antonio Williams is an explosive play threat and a reliable weapon with the ball in his hands. He can hurt defenses in a variety of ways at all three areas of the field. If he can stay healthy, he can be a difference maker all over the offense.
