School: LSU

Class: Redshirt Junior

Position: WR

HT: 5’8

WT: 188 lbs

Background: Aaron Anderson was a top 50 recruit nationally and a top 5 5-star wide receiver in the class of 2022. A product of Louisiana, Anderson played for Edna Karr High School in New Orleans. Anderson started varsity all 4 years and as a senior he totaled 74 receptions for 926 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also had more than 20 return touchdowns throughout his high school career. He was selected to play in the Under Armour All-American Game. On top of being a 5-star wide receiver, Aaron was a dominant track athlete in high school as well. Anderson chose to play for Alabama out of high school over just about every other school in the SEC.

College: In his 1st collegiate season, Anderson did not get any burn as he dealt with a variety of injuries. After an uneventful year on the field for the Crimson Tide, Anderson transferred to LSU. As a redshirt freshman for the Tigers, Anderson had 12 catches for 59 yards. In 2024 as a redshirt sophomore, Anderson led the Tigers in most receiving categories with 61 receptions for 884 yards and 5 touchdowns.

Strengths: Aaron Anderson has an extensive route tree relative to the typical slot receiver. He has a stop and go ability that keeps defensive backs on their heels. He is a quick mover with incredible quick twitchiness in tight spaces. Anderson gets to top speed off the line in a flash. He is an elite accelerator with eye-popping burst. Aaron is creative with the ball in his hands. He finds the open field in a hurry to gash defenses. Anderson has a tremendous cut back to get from one side of the field to the other in the blink of an eye. He is hard to bring down to the ground and near impossible to wrap up on initial contact. He slips out of arm tackles to continue into open space. At the catchpoint, Anderson is a reliable target who has demonstrated the ability to bring in the football knowing he will be met with contact at the catchpoint.

Weaknesses: Anderson’s size has and will continue to limit him to a slot role. He does not have the length to succeed on the boundary with any type of consistency. He can be knocked off his route by stronger and more physical defenders. As a run blocker, his technique needs improvement. He allows defensive backs to get under his pads and push him off his foundation easily. He may not be playable on obvious running downs.

Conclusion: Aaron Anderson is a crafty slot corner who can work himself open easily with twitchy movements close to the line of scrimmage. He will see success if put in the proper role and scheme. His size presents a set of limitations, but he will be of value to any NFL team.
