Darnell Wright Scouting Report
Wright does a good job to maintain a solid and consistent pad level when engaged with defenders. Wright uses his length and strength to keep defenders off balance and stun them with an initial punch. Wright is extremely strong, not only with his arms, but also his lower half. It is difficult for defenders to get Wright to move once he has planted his anchor.
Cedric Tillman Scouting Report
Tillman does a great job at the breakpoint of his routes to turn back towards the ball and either see it in or come back to get it. While you might not expect a receiver of Tillman’s stature to be as solid of a route runner as the smaller and more agile players, Tillman is an exception. He can stack corners and quickly break or accelerate on the outside.
Jack Campbell Scouting Report
He is a fast linebacker that is able to keep up with deception and quick-footed ball carriers. Campbell is best when dropping back into coverage, where he can clog up passing lanes and take away reads from the quarterback. Campbell is an ideal MIKE linebacker in a Cover 2 scheme where he can clog up the intermediate area of the field in between the hash marks.
Parker Washington Scouting Report
Parker Washington is a jack of all trades for the Nittany Lions. He is a fast receiver that typically lines up in the slot to find the soft spots in the middle of the field. He has a knack for picking up yards after the catch. He has a strong lower half that provides him with elite balance and body control. If defenders do not completely follow through with the tackle and put Washington in the grass, he will make them pay.
Josh Downs Scouting Report
Downs can be seen lining up anywhere on the field from the slot, either boundary, and even lining up in the backfield. His speed makes him a weapon in a variety of sets and packages. Downs is best used in plenty of pre-snap motion where he can use his legs to keep a defense guessing and on edge.
DJ Turner Scouting Report
When covering go routes, Turner displays loose hips and turns on the burners to stick with the receiver. Turner is able to look back at the ball and make a play, rather than getting grabby and locking eyes onto the receiver. DJ Turner is also a more than willing tackler. He loves being physical and making his presence felt on the field any chance he can get.
Nathaniel Dell Scouting Report
Dell is heavily involved in pre-snap motion, whether it is moving across the line or taking jet sweeps behind the line and working with the ball in space. Dell is most dangerous when he gets the ball in his hands as quickly as possible.
Isaiah Foskey Scouting Report
Foskey is primarily used as a rusher, but in a 2-point stance, which helps him leverage his weight and momentum against opposing blockers. He has great natural reaction skills and an innate ability to make a big play behind the line of scrimmage.
Julius Brents Scouting Report
He has the size to compete at the line of scrimmage with bigger receivers who try to knock cornerbacks back on their heels. He is also big enough to compete at the catch point in order to make a play on the ball. Brents uses his size in a functional way both on the ball and on the ball carrier.
Luke Wypler Scouting Report
Wypler is an athletic player with solid movement skills for the position. He can move in any direction, east-west or north-south, Wypler has lateral quickness that is rare for a center. The most important trait in a center is Football IQ. Wypler has a great Football IQ, he knows what it takes to lead a team.
Siaki Ika Scouting Report
Siaki Ika has a perfect blend of size, athleticism, and speed. Ika does a great job of absorbing contact from the interior offensive linemen and preventing them from working into the second level of the defense. This lets Ika’s linebackers focus on the ball carrier without having to shed open field blocks.
Drew Sanders Scouting Report
Drew Sanders was one of the most productive defensive players in 2023. As a stand-up middle linebacker, Sanders is as dominant of a pass rusher as you will find at the position. His length and bend provides high upside. Sanders has a great feel for the quarterback and does well to contain even the most slippery quarterbacks within the pocket.
Anton Harrison Scouting Report
Harrison has a powerful lower half and excellent grip strength that allows him to latch onto rushers and push them back, effectively knocking them off their rush. He never stops moving his legs and can simply outworks opponents. Harrison is extremely effective in run protection where he is allowed to eliminate rushers and work up field with the ball carrier.
Antonio Johnson Scouting Report
Johnson does a good job to read and diagnose routes at all levels of the field and take good angles to the ball carrier. The safety can also play everywhere on the field; on the edge, as a linebacker, a slot corner, or at his traditional one high safety position. As a sort of Swiss Army knife for a defense, he needs to be able to do it all. For the most part, Johnson can do it all.
Felix Anudike-Uzomah Scouting Report
Felix uses his size and strength on the edge when he bullrushes offensive linemen, walking them back into the backfield until he can disrupt the quarterback. He has no problem going straight into the chest of the biggest linemen in the country and knocking them back off their anchor. Anudike-Uzomah is as solid as they come for run defenders on the edge.
Mazi Smith Scouting Report
Mazi Smith is an elite defender of the run. He may very well be the best run defender in the nation. His ability to bounce off blockers at the line of scrimmage and lunge into a tackle to avoid the ball carrier gaining any yards is second to none. Smith consistently plays at a good pad level and is able to get into the chest of offensive linemen and knock them back off their base.
Kyu Blu Kelly Scouting Report
Kelly reads the quarterback’s eyes well and can close in on the target to either prevent any yards after the catch or to disrupt the pass entirely. Kyu Blu Kelly is a positive player in run defense as well. He can read what is happening at the mesh point and react accordingly from his position.
Dalton Kincaid Scouting Report
Kincaid has undeniable athleticism that he uses to get open and make plays on contested balls down field. Nickel corners have a tough time sticking with Kincaid due to his blend of size and athleticism. Kincaid has consistent hands no matter how sticky the coverage is or how tight the window is to catch the football.
Zach Charbonnet Scouting Report
Charbonnet is shiftier than expected to go along with the “bowling ball” stereotype, causing defenders to be careful with how they approach him. He is a north-south runner who rarely wastes time behind the line of scrimmage waiting for running lanes but has the field vision and feel for the game that allows him to get to the 2nd level with ease.
Colby Wooden Scouting Report
The senior has shown improvements in his game every year that he has been at Auburn and his development is very promising. Wooden has registered a combined 50 QB hurries in the last two seasons, which have produced 13 sacks. He moves and carries his weight well for his size. He is not a power rusher, but more of a technical and finesse rusher.
