School: Alabama
Class: Redshirt Senior
Position: DT
HT: 6’2
WT: 326 lbs
Background: Tim Keenan was a 4-star defensive lineman out of Birmingham, Alabama. He was a top 15 player in the state and top 50 defensive lineman in the 2021 class. He played for Ramsay High School and was named to the PrepStar 150 Dream Team. Keenan chose to stay home and play for Alabama over Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, and others.
College: He utilized his redshirt in 2021 and did not become an impact player until 2023. That was a season in which he recorded 38 tackles as the starting 1 tech. He improved his numbers in 2024 with 40 tackles, 7.5 TFLs, and 2.5 sacks. Keenan battled injuries for a good portion of the 2025 campaign, but was able to notch 19 tackles on the season, including 3 for a loss.
Strengths: Tim Keenan is quick to engage in the phone booth. He takes it upon himself to knock interior linemen off their anchor to create a path into the backfield. Keenan has a strong lower half to anchor in the run game and keep his linebackers clean. He has the lateral agility to work multiple gaps in a sequence. He is a rangy tackle who can clog a lane in a blink of an eye. Keenan is strong enough to absorb combo blocks and double teams close to the line of scrimmage, allowing his teammates to exploit single matchups frequently. He does not get washed out in the run game as his legs are constantly moving to give himself any kind of leverage.
Weaknesses: Keenan is not the most athletically gifted player and he can get swallowed up in open space. He does not have the straight line speed or movement skills to get downhill and disrupt the backfield. While he has strength in his bullrush, he does not create power through speed out of his stance, as he has limited burst and explosiveness. He does not do enough to completely dominate reps or blow plays up. In other words, he absorbs blocks instead of exploding blocks.
Conclusion: Tim Keenan III has a floor of a rotational defensive tackle who can make a name for himself for keeping teammates clean in the run game. He does not offer much as a pass rusher, which limits what his ceiling can be. His testing at the combine was underwhelming and puts the nail in the coffin of him being a mid to late Day 3 selection.
