Background: Dani Dennis-Sutton was a 5-star defensive lineman from Millsboro, Delaware. Despite being from Delaware, Dennis-Sutton spent all 4 years of high school at McDonogh School. He was on the honor roll all four years and was a two-time team captain. Dani was selected to play in both the Polynesian Bowl and the All-American Bowl after his senior season. He also lettered in basketball and track & field. Dani Dennis-Sutton committed to Penn State over Alabama, Georgia, and others.
College: In 2022, Dani was named an ESPN Freshman All-American after making 17 tackles, 3 sacks, and 3.5 TFLs. As a sophomore in 2023, Dennis-Sutton was an All-Big 10 Third Team member with 6 TFLs and 3.5 sacks. Dennis-Sutton only received All-Big 10 honorable mention in 2024 as a junior despite the increase in production with 13 TFLs and 8.5 sacks. Dennis-Sutton returned to Penn State for his senior season in 2025. He was an All-Big 10 Third Team selection after recording 12 TFLs and 8.5 sacks.
Strengths: Dani Dennis-Sutton profiles as an edge rusher with plus movement skills and a solid frame for the position. He has excellent ankle flexion to cut at different angles when faced with angle blocks. As a pass rusher, Dennis-Sutton has violent and heavy hands to deconstruct blocks in the phone booth. He shows no issue with getting involved in a battle of strength. He has a bull rush that can put tackles on their heels and allow him access to the backfield. Dennis-Sutton almost spams the spin move. When trying to gain leverage, a spin to the inside shoulder is his go-to. Dani is a versatile piece along the defensive line, showing the ability to kick inside to 3-tech and clog rushing lanes when needed.
Weaknesses: Dennis-Sutton doesn’t offer much of a counter rush. When his initial rush is contained, he struggles to get back in the fight. Dennis-Sutton seems to whiff on tackles. He attempts too many arm tackles at the line of scrimmage, letting ball carriers to slide through him. On the rush, Dani plays too high and tends to allow the opponent to get hands into his chest, knocking him off his rush.
Conclusion: Dani Dennis-Sutton is a disruptive pass rusher with a rare combination of athleticism and size. He had a prolific combine and looks to be one of the most impactful edge rushers in the class. He has his limitations against the run, but he is a dominant pass rusher who will see the field early and often.
