School: Clemson

Class: Junior

Position: CB

HT: 5’11

WT: 186 lbs

Background: Avieon Terrell was a 4-star cornerback in the 2023 class out of Atlanta, Georgia. His brother, AJ, was a Clemson standout and is currently a top cornerback in the league for the Atlanta Falcons. Terrell was a top 20 player in Georgia and top 30 cornerback in his class. He played both returner and cornerback for Westlake High School. Avieon Terrell committed to Clemson over Auburn, Florida State, and others.

College: As a true freshman for the Tigers, Terrell was credit with 6 pass breakups after playing in all 13 games. As a sophomore in 2024, Terrell made 64 tackles, including 4.5 for a loss, to go with 13 pass breakups and 2 interceptions. He was a Second Team All-ACC selection after an eye-popping campaign. Avieon was named an AP All-American and First Team All-ACC selection in 2025 after making 11 pass breakups. He was also named an Academic All-ACC selection in every year at Clemson.

Strengths: Aveion Terrell has the fluidity in his hips to allow him to transition from his backpedal to full sprint when mirroring wide receivers on deep routes. He does not lose any speed in his stride when flipping his hips. Terrell sits low in his stance when playing man coverage with a smooth backpedal, maintaining balance and leverage throughout the route stem. He is an aggressive man coverage corner who enjoys jamming wide receivers at the line of scrimmage and remains physical throughout the route without getting out of control. He is strong at the catchpoint, often jarring the ball free to force incompletions. In zone coverage, he does well to trigger and meet the football at the intended target in the intermediate areas. Terrell is a decent run defender for the position and does well to stay in the play when the ball is bounced out to the perimeter.

Weaknesses: Terrell does not have the desired length from a boundary cornerback. He is also on the thinner side. His lack of length and mass allow the bigger X receivers to take advantage at the catchpoint of contested footballs. Terrell tends to lose a step at the stem of routes when wide receivers break or cut. He seems to be guessing when the wide receiver is going to make his cut instead of watching the footwork and hips of his opponent.

Conclusion: Aveion Terrell is a physical and aggressive boundary cornerback. He should be deployed on the boundary, but he can certainly play the nickel if necessary. His wiry frame will leave him susceptible to bigger boundary receivers, but he makes up for it with his style of play.
